Taishan Academic Forum - “Frontiers of Lubrication Technology of High-end equipment” - 2022 Eastern Tribology Academic Forum was successfully held

From 22nd  to 23rd August, the Taishan Academic Forum - “Frontiers of High-end Equipment Lubrication Technology” - 2022 Eastern Tribology Academic Forum was successfully held in the Western Coast New Area of Qingdao, Shandong Province. The conference was hosted by Shandong Provincial Department of Education and Tribology Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Co-hosted by Qingdao University of Technology, Qingdao Research and Development Center of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yantai Advanced Materials and Green Manufacturing Shandong Laboratory, Jinan University, Shandong Mechanical Engineering Society. Tribology scholars, engineers and entrepreneurs from various provinces attended the conference, and the conference was held in the form of a combination of online and offline, with a total of more than 3,000 participants.

Professor Feng Guo, who is the Scholar of Mount Tai in Shandong Province and the Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of Qingdao University of Technology, presided over the opening ceremony of the conference. Opening speeches were delivered by Professor Baorong Hou, who is the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and a researcher of Institute of Oceanography of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhongrong Zhou (online), who is the Chairman of Tribology Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University, Professor Shirong Ge(online), the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the President of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and Professor Changhe Li, Vice President of Qingdao University of Technology. Weimin Liu , who is the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kali Gu, who is the vice chairman and director-general of the Tribology Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Feng Zhou, vice chairman of the tribology branch and deputy director of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Xing Huang, who is the director of the National Rubber and Plastic Seal Engineering Technology Research Center, Yangtze River scholar and Professor Yong Qin of Lanzhou University, Xiaobo Wang, who is director of the Qingdao Center of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Science, Zhipeng Hu, who is deputy director of the recruitment Office of the Western Coast New Area of Qingdao, Xiong Wang, who is the Personnel Department of Qingdao University of Technology and Chenggang Lu, who is the deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of Qingdao University of Technology also presented at the opening ceremony.

    Fifteen experts, including Weimin Liu , who is the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiadao Wang, who is the Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars of Tsinghua University, Professor Xing Huang, who is the director of the National Rubber and Plastic Seal Engineering Technology Research Center, Yong Qin who is the Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars of Lanzhou University, Zhongmin Jin, who is the chair professor of Changjiang of Southwest Jiaotong University, Professor Bailin Huang of City University of Hong Kong and Professor Venner of University of Twente University of the Netherlands, were invited to give special lectures. The conference also arranged 47 oral presentations and 24 posters.

Reports of the conference were fully demonstrated the latest research achievements of related theories, materials and technologies in the field of tribology, as well as the thinking of experts on the future research direction of tribology. During the conference, participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions online and offline and further strengthened the exchange and cooperation among friction scholars, which is conducive to the development of tribology researches and related industries.

The topic of Mount Tai Academic Forum - “Frontiers of Lubrication Technology of High-end equipment” is a special conference of Mount Tai scholars established by Qingdao University of Technology in Shandong Provincial Education Department. The Eastern Tribology Academic Forum is a brand conference of the Tribology Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, which is held once a year. The tribology team of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of our university won the right to host the conference last year, and invited the influential tribology research units in the province, incuding Qingdao Research and Development Center of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shandong Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Green Manufacturing, and Jinan University and Shandong Mechanical Engineering Society to co-host.

Facing the frontier of science and technology of triboloy and the main battlefield of industry application of tribology, the sub-academic forum provides an academic platform for free discussion, stimulates tribology innovation consciousness and promotes discipline intersection and integration. The conference will promote the exchanges and cooperation between Shandong Province and other provinces and cities in the eastern China and even the whole country in the field of tribology, and make contributions to promoting the transformation of tribology from basic research to industrial application, serving national strategic needs and regional economic development. This conference is of great significance to expand the domestic influence of mechanical engineering disciplines in our school and our university, and to promote the construction of provincial-level advantageous and characteristic disciplines of mechanical engineering.
