Prof. Feng Guo was invited to give an invited lecture at the 7th World Tribology Congress

The 7^th World Tribology Congress was held from July 10 to 15 2022 in Lyon, France. Top experts, well-known scholars, young scientists, students and industrialists from all over the world attended the meeting offline or online. Professor Feng Guo from Qingdao University of Technology was invited to give an invited lecture at the 7^th World Tribology Congress

Prof. Guo’s video report “Enhancement of Film Lubrication by Tailored Surface Wettability” is a special report on the Interfacial flow and thin film lubrication. Limited lubricant supply (LLS) is a new trend in tribological design was pointed out in the report, which provides help for energy saving and environmental problems.

The report describes how customized or specially designed surface wettability can be effectively lubricated with lubricants under LLS conditions. For example, the wetting steps made on both sides of the lipophilic contact track by the oil-sparse layer can increase the lubrication of the friction pair.

A certain degree of low lipophilic modification on the friction surface has also been proved to improve the supply of lubricants. It also introduces how to apply the basic research of specially designed surface wetting to the low friction of rolling bearings.
