  • Summary

Prof. Guo obtained his Ph.D. degree from the City University of Hong Kong. Currently, he serves as a Taishan Scholar Distinguished Professor at Qingdao University of Technology, a doctoral supervisor, and Dean of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. He holds several academic positions, including membership on the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Tribology at Tsinghua University, council member of the Tribology Division of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and editorial board member of journals such as FRICTION and Tribology Transactions. Additionally, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the City University of Hong Kong and a Visiting Professor at Kyushu Institute of Technology.

He has been honored with titles such as "New Century Excellent Talent" by the Ministry of Education, "Innovation Leader of Qingdao," "Chief Expert of Shandong Higher Education Institutions," "Baosteel Excellent Teacher," and "Outstanding Graduate Supervisor of Shandong Province." As a principal investigator, he has led multiple research projects, including sub-projects of the National "973 Program" and grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

His research achievements have earned him several awards, including the Natural Science Award (Second Class) of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Scientific Research Output, the Qingdao Natural Science Award (First Class), recognition as an "Outstanding Progress Project in Mechanical Engineering" by the NSFC, and the "Best Paper of the Year" award from the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology. He has published over 60 papers in leading tribology journals and delivered numerous keynote and invited speeches at domestic and international tribology conferences.

Under his supervision, his graduate students have received awards such as "Outstanding Doctoral and Master's Theses of Shandong Province." He has also established collaborative research partnerships with institutions including the City University of Hong Kong, Leibniz University Hannover (Germany), Kyushu Institute of Technology (Japan).
