High-speed Elastohydrodynamic Test Rig is a home-made device designed on the base of conventional light-elastohydrodynamic test rig to measure the elastohydrodynamic film at a high speed in our laboratory,Lab of Tribology&Surfacing Engineering. The device consisting of glass disc and steel ball driven by electric spindles aims to examine the lubrication properties at the high-speed stage. It contains main body supports, driven electric spindles, cooling parts, loading parts, image acquisition parts and security protection parts: using linear electric motors and sensor to control the size of load accurately and combining with the Dichromatic Interference Intensity Modulation Approach (DIIM) to obtain the high quality images at high speed. So we can get the lubricant film thickness under high-speed condition visually. Connecting with the air-oil lubricant system, it can stimulate the air-oil lubricant under high-speed condition, and then obtain more guidable information.

1.Structures and operating instruction:

HSTR includes the main body bracket, driving system and loading system, control system and image acquisition system. In the testing, we load by loading system、drive the glass disc and steel ball by driving system and collect the interference images through the image acquisition system, finally ,with image processing software ,measure the film thickness.

Measuring the Elastohydrodynamic lubricating Film thickness at high speed

Distribution and influence factors of lubricating medium under the high-speed condition

Analyzing the thermal effects on oil film under the condition of high speed
